Axel Brown
Michael “Axel” Brown, LSW, ADDC
As a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and Alcohol & Drug Counselor (ADDC), I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My passion lies in helping people navigate life’s challenges, uncover their strengths, and build meaningful connections.
Originally from New York City, I bring a unique perspective shaped by both personal and professional experiences. Before becoming a therapist, I proudly served six years in the military, where I learned resilience, discipline, and the importance of community. Earlier in life, I was part of the DHS system—a formative experience that inspired me to pursue social work. My journey fuels my commitment to being the kind of support for others that I once needed myself.
I work with children, families, and individuals, taking a holistic approach that considers the full scope of each person’s experiences and circumstances. Together, we thoughtfully explore the many facets of life that may be impacted, addressing challenges with care, collaboration, and compassion.
My areas of focus include:
- Anxiety and depression
- Relational changes and life transitions
- Attachment concerns
- Trauma, grief, and loss
I believe therapy is a space for healing, growth, and empowerment. My goal is to walk alongside you as you navigate your journey, helping you discover resilience and create lasting change.
